Update:  Verizon Bill down $67.74 this month
Update:  I ordered coffee again from Bed, Bath and Beyond.  This time I realized I could use a Bed, Bath and Beyond coupon for 20% off.  This brings each cup of coffee down to 27 cents a cup from 33 cents a cup, an additional 6 cents a cup.  Additional Yearly savings:  $22  Total yearly savings on coffee:  $230.

     An update on one of the money saving choices I have written about. This is by far my favorite change!  I could not be more pleased with this S'well water bottle.  It is stainless steel and keeps water cold for 24 hours.  I haven't tried hot beverages yet but they say the bottle keeps them hot for 12 hours.  The bottle does not sweat, so no more little puddles of condensation on surfaces and papers.  I bought the 9 oz size for home.  I was always a lover of the small plastic water bottle size because I tend to finish them off then.  It isn't a big deal to drink the rest of a little 8 oz bottle whereas I would find half drank 16 oz water bottles everywhere!       Zoey is on board with this new change because she is my organic, green, mother earth daughter!  We found her this super cute S'well water bottle at Target.  The bottles at Target are 15 oz.  I got a second water bottle for sch...

Plastic Water Bottle Junkie

    I must confess that I am a plastic water bottle junkie!  I keep a case of bottles at home and at school at all times.  I carry plastic water bottles in my purse, car and on my person almost all the time.  This habit of mine has been bothering me on several levels.  The cost, the plastic trash and the health risks that I am hearing more and more about have made me pick this habit to change.     It is time to face down this monster!  First, I needed to find a permanent water bottle.  After some research and just plain liking it, I ordered a stainless steel water bottle like this one from S'well.       Next comes filtration.  I chose this Brita Stream System.    Bottom Line:  I spend at least $5 a week in plastic water bottles=$260/year     Swell Water Bottle $25     Brita pitcher and one filter $29     Filters approx every 2 month at $7 a filter=$42/year ...

Crazy Coupon Lady

    I read an interesting article this morning about ways people think they are saving money but in the long run they are not.  Like buying something on sale that you would not have bought otherwise.    In this my "summer of saving" it is tempting to look too deep, to micro-manage my spending.  This is going to require a balance which will be tricky.  On the one hand I want to be mindful of all my spending, but on the other I do not want to waste valuable time over saving a few pennies.    My guy said to me last night, "you are not going to become of one of those crazy coupon ladies are you?"      I do NOT want to turn into one of those crazy coupon ladies.  I do NOT want to make it my full time job to find ways to save money.  I do want a summer of looking at my spending however.  I want to apply what I learn to my year ahead!      I gotta run.  I am going to Jo-Ann Fabric to get suppli...
