One Phone Call Saved Me $597
I have been putting off tackling my cable bill. I have AT&T for internet and cable T.V. I have a pretty low key cable package, one up from basic mostly for HGTV and the Hallmark channels.
My first idea was to try a streaming service called Sling, which is an a la cart service for $20 a month (you choose which channels you want). I signed up for a free 7 days only to find that my T.V. can not support it. I unsubscribed.
I then called AT&T and told them that I could no longer afford cable TV for the little we use it. The representative gave several options and I told her I would need to think about it. That's when she came back with a "new" plan that offers me exactly what I have now except a higher internet speed, a $25 signing bonus and all for $44 dollars less a month than I am paying now! No contract either.
I read online that you should not jump at the first offer the representative gives. Did you know they are given a certain number of better deals that they can offer you if they think you are going to cancel a service?
Money Saved: $44/month plus $25 signing bonus
Total: $597/year
